Improv Workshop: Gender on Stage with Amy Shostak

January 25, 2019 @ 4:45 pm - 6:45 pm

🔥Gender On Stage with Amy Shostak🔥

This workshop explores how gender often presents itself in improvisation, and in what ways can we honour, question or challenge concepts of gender on stage. We will experiment with subverting, commenting on, centring and de-centring character choices in relation to gender. The focus of this workshop will be on active character-focused scene work, but there will also be time for discussion. Being hosted at the Smash Comedy Fest, this workshop is open to all women, trans*, femme and genderqueer-identified performers with foundational improv training.

Friday 4:45pm-6:45PM, $40/person, Little Mountain Gallery

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update July 2020

Last month the province entered the government’s Phase 3 of operational reopening, a staggered approach by sector.

In early July this reopening impacted LMG as part of:

Select entertainment – movies and symphony, but not large concerts (July 2020)

Little Mountain Gallery is not returning to regular programming but, over the coming weeks and months, modified live performances may resume with health restrictions in place.

If or when you choose to return to Little Mountain Gallery please be aware that the experience will differ from how you remember to ensure the maximum amount of safety for our community.

LMG will restrict access to people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have come into contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Although all performances at LMG are independently produced we're asking all our showrunners to comply with a standard level of precautions, including encouraging all tickets to be available online, elimination of cash-transactions, rigorous disinfectant and preventative measures, audience traffic and line modifications, etc.

Information about specific practices can be obtained from individual showrunners before events. Please respect all requirements for entry including mask-use, disinfectant procedures, additional time for entry and exit, as well as any additional necessary inconveniences.

As we slowly transition back to limited performances please know that safety is our first priority. If you have any questions or concerns please message LMG at littlemountaingallerycomedy@gmail.com
