January 26, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Slide Show: Alllll Ladies Edition

A very special edition of one of city’s most popular improv nights, Slide Show challenges comedians to present Powerpoint presentations they’ve never seen before, with very weird and funny results.

The Jamie and Sarah Experience Project
Charlotte Sparkle
Karla Monterrosa
Julianne Maria
and more special guests to come!
with your host, Stacey McLachlan

Doors at 6:30, show at 7:00.

PLUS Enjoy some verrrry nice beer at verrrry nice prices, sponsored by our friends at Steamworks. (We’ll have other good things to drink too, DON’T EVEN WORRY ABOUT IT.)

It’s the perfect way to kick off Saturday night at Smash Comedy Fest. Stick around for Truth-or-Dare inspired improv at 9:00 and “Weird Gal” karaoke at 11:00.

Tickets are $10 until December 29, and $15 after that. Grab a multi-show or multi-day pass to get in on even more of the magic (and sweet, sweet savings). All proceeds going to help send under-represented kids to Improv Camp.

Produced by Nasty Women Comedy, the inaugural Smash Comedy Festival is a three-day comedy festival spotlighting Vancouver’s best and brightest women/trans/femme/plus performers. Smash Comedy Festival is guaranteed to be a hilarious time, combining wildly funny, feminist-forward comedy from an elite squad of sketch, improv and stand-up comedians, PLUS writing and improv workshops, comedy karaoke and a ‘90s dance party!

It’s going to be a very special weekend featuring some of the city’s funniest and hardest working individuals, all in support of sending underrepresented kids to Improv Camp for the upcoming 2019 season.

Here’s the low-down on what to expect during what scientists are saying to be “the best weekend of our lives”.

A very special edition of Nasty Women’s monthly improv show at the Biltmore Cabaret will kick off the weekend, featuring standup by Julie Kim and a performance by Vancouver’s Women’s Comedy Choir, followed by dancing all night long to a Carly Rae Jepsen-heavy setlist.

We start the early evening off with a Jam Show (by donation) for all of Vancouver’s WTF performers, and then get right into two hot shows at Little Mountain Gallery featuring an all-star cast of Vancouver’s WTF comedy world—one sketch-and-improv showcase, another spotlighting hilarious, lady-ish stand-up comedians. (Also featuring fun snacks and an even FUNNER after party!)

Two MORE hot shows with another amazing crew representing the city’s finest in comedy: a ladies-only edition of Slide Show, followed by a night of Truth or Dare themed improv with one-night only all-star ensembles, and then a late-late musical comedy show to keep everybody laughing well past bedtime.
