Renter Updates

Hello LMG Renters!

I hope you're all having a lovely end of the year - I know it's a busy time and things are hectic, so I hope you're all taking care of yourselves and finding some joy in the holiday season!

We just wanted to reach out for some reminders, updates and good to knows as we look into 2026.

CHANGES + 2026 BOOKINGS
1) Ongoing bookings

If you have a previous ongoing booking with us, such as a monthly or weekly show, that will be carried forward unless we have spoken with you and told you otherwise. If you are uncertain, please respond through email and I can let you know. This is also important because if you need to cancel a January show, we need to do that ASAP!

2) GST & pricing changes

Starting in the new year, we will have to start adding GST to everything in the space (including rental costs, drinks, tickets, merch, etc.). This is required by law, since we have now passed a certain threshold in sales (yay!). This means all bookings beyond 2025 with us will have GST added to the rental fee (not yay!).

This also means ticket prices will go up by 5%. If you would like to adjust your base price for your audience, please do let me know. We apologize for this inconvenience.

GST fees will be added on all products and services beginning Jan 1, 2026.

3) Website updates

As some of you may have noticed, we have completely changed our website. We have revamped it with SEO in mind, in hopes that we can continue to boost sales. We are also adding pages for everyone's shows, which will also help boost your show's SEO and ideally get everyone more tickets. You'll notice when you submit a show now, there's additional information that we're collecting, this is so we can populate the web pages with information about your show.

Many of you do not submit new show info every month (thank you for saving me), so we will be creating a max two sentence description of your show on your behalf, and selecting the category for you (Improv, Stand-Up, Variety, or Sketch). If you would like to do this yourself, please email me your two sentence description and the category of your show.

  • You can now send us a 1–2 sentence description for your show to appear on its new website page.
  • Please also provide the category for your show: Improv, Stand-Up, Variety, Sketch, etc.
  • If we don’t receive these from you, LMG will write the description and choose the category on your behalf.
4) Tech requirements

If you bring your own tech for your show, please ensure the tech knows how to use the equipment and will be able to troubleshoot most issues. If you are switching your tech, please get your previous tech to train the new person. If you are uncertain about your tech's ability to run your show, please arrive more than 30 minutes before your doors, and let us know that you need help in advance. We are a small team, and often we cannot help you once doors have opened and people are coming to the ticket booth + bar.

Please also utilize the tech guide on the desktop of the computer before asking for help. Most information you need will be in there!

Google Reviews

If you've had a good experience at LMG this year, a quick Google review is a huge help and supports the space and everyone's shows. Please also consider asking your audience to leave a review after your show.

REMINDERS
1) Social media & graphics

For social media posts, we are now doing an Instagram weekly round-up of what's happening in the space, where we will include your show poster. We will continue to collaborate on 1 social media post per show and we will share your stories the week of the show. Please do not request more than 1 collab post per show.

Show Graphics

  • Please submit all show graphics for LMG's promotional use.
  • If you have a recurring show, please send graphics without dates.
  • Images should not exceed 2000px. They will not be used if they do not fit the proper measurements or resolution.

Required Sizes

  • Banner Image for Ticketing:
    1200px (W) × 600px (H), JPG/PNG, under 3MB.
  • Square Image for Ticketing:
    1080px × 1080px, JPG/PNG, under 3MB.
  • TV Display (16:9):
    1920px (W) × 1080px (H), JPG/PNG, under 3MB.

New Instagram Sizes (Optional)

Instagram now supports multiple aspect ratios. You do not need to provide these, but if you do, we will use them when posting.

  • Square: 1080 × 1080px (1:1)
  • Portrait: 1080 × 1350px (4:5)
  • Tall Portrait: 1080 × 1440px (3:4)
2) Room reset & responsibilities

We ask that you help re-set the room after your show and sometimes help with setting up the room if you have special requirements for the room/stage. More often than not, the LMG staff will set up the room for you, but as per our Rental Agreement, we ask that renters help out where and when they can. This is particularly important after your show ends.

If you've changed the layout of the room, turned on the TVs, played music, we ask that you please reset the room. Don't worry about turning off the computers or speakers, just try to reset everything back to how you found it (chairs in their normal arrangement, TVs off, tech booth powered down, lights off). Please also ask your audience to take their cans as they're leaving.

3) Professionalism & audiences

We ask that show runners and performers treat audience members with a level of professionalism. We have seen more repeat customers in the last year, which is great! Often these customers aren't coming back for the same show, they're exploring new shows in the space. This means every show works as an advertisement for the next show, and the space in general. In order to maintain the success of all of our productions and of the space, we ask that you treat audiences with a level of professionalism and respect. This does not pertain to dealing with hecklers or someone disrupting your show.

4) Start times & late fees

We ask renters to please try and start their shows on time. We understand audiences are late to shows, which can cause a hold up on start times. Please note, even if you start late, you still have 75 minutes for your rental. If you exceed your rental time you will be charged a late fee.

The late fee is calculated by taking the cost of your rental and dividing it by 75. For example, the Raccoon Room on Saturday is $167.50 — that’s $2.23 per minute.

5) Guest lists & comps

If you have a guest list/comp list please send us this list the morning of your show at the latest. You can also ask for a 100% off discount code and get your guests to use this so they are reserving a ticket. If your show is sold out, that means there is no room for your guest list.

If you'd like to hold tickets for the door, please let us know and we will reduce that from your general admission capacity and hold it for door sales.

We know this is a lot of information to take in so if you have any questions or concerns please let us know. We appreciate all of your hard work over the last year and have seen so much growth and success with so many of your shows! We hope you've enjoyed hosting them at LMG. Please let us know what else we can do to support you and your show's success.

We hope you have a Happy Holiday and for those of you who still have shows with us in 2025, see ya soon!
